Sinfonia is Mussoc’s student-run, auditioned symphony orchestra. We perform works that are challenging and varied, but the aim is to get you playing with a smile on your face. Our cheerful student conductors create a hard-working and friendly atmosphere in rehearsals and the concerts are always a great occasion.

Recent concert repertoire includes Symphonic Dances from West Side Story, Vaughan Williams’ Symphony No. 5, Shostakovich’s Festive Overture, Marquez’s Danzon No. 2 and much more!

Sinfonia provides a great opportunity to meet likeminded students from a variety of subjects and we also aim to be involved with other Mussoc ensembles. One highlight of the year is when members of Sinfonia join the rest of Mussoc abroad on our Easter Tour!

Rehearsals are: Mondays 6:40-9pm, Rehearsal Hall, Department of Music

Auditions will run on Friday 30 September: 2:30-8pm, October 1st and 2nd: 9am-5pm
